Jurgen Klopp makes a new goalkeeper Liverpool’s top transfer priority after Loris Karius howlers

Liverpool have had issues between the sticks for several seasons, with Karius only recently usurping previous No.1 Simon Mignolet, and were expected to try and sign a keeper this summer.

Liverpool will make signing a new
goalkeeper their number one priority after Loris Karius’ mistake-ridden performance in Saturday’s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
The German was at fault for two goals in Kiev either side of an outrageous bicycle kick from Gareth Bale , first rolling the ball into the path of Karim Benzema to open the scoring.
Liverpool recovered, however, drawing
level, but after Bale’s wonder goal Karius then palmed another fierce effort from the Welshman into his own net to put the result beyond doubt.

Speaking about Karius’ costly errors after the match, Klopp told reporters: ‘The second mistake is because of the first. It’s really difficult to get rid of the bad thoughts in your mind.’ ‘Loris knows it, everybody knows it. That is a shame in a game like this, in a season like this. I feel for him. He is a fantastic boy.’
Liverpool have already been linked with the likes of Roma shot-stopper Alisson, Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak and Stoke City keeper Jack Butland.
None of those players will come cheap,
with a record transfer for a goalkeeper
likely needed to prise them away from their current clubs, but Karius’ performances will have only underlined the need to spend big on their problem position.
